Disregarding the idea of owning music and muh intellectual properly from a leftist

I don't understand how the fuck people who whine about these things expect millions of songs made throughout history in every part of the world won't inevitably end up sounding similar

I fucking hate this mindset. And 99% I can't even notice the similarity.

The only valid perspective about it I accept and understand is from the worker perspective where an indie artist can get their music stolen and profited off by somebody more famous and powerful since we live in capitalism and music can be capitalized on.

The ultimate purpose of music is supposed to make each other feel. I hate its commodification and the problems that has caused to it.

Also can anybody post me that apu staja picture where he's singing with headphones?

I fully agree. Same with art.
I still dislike Madonna for screwing over smaller artists though.

Intellectual property is a spook, but so called "violations" of it wouldn't really happen without a profit motive anyway.

>I don't understand how the fuck people who whine about these things expect millions of songs made throughout history in every part of the world won't inevitably end up sounding similar
only brainlets argue against that, let them, their opinion is beneath contempt, i think the debate is missing the main point which is that the music business is pretty much the opposite of a meritocracy at this point and you can vividly see (or hear) this as opposed to other crafts

>The ultimate purpose of music is supposed to make each other feel. I hate its commodification and the problems that has caused to it.

lmfao I was actually reading a fun essay on this by adorno (types of music listeners) - he critizised the emotional listener for projecting his own emotions onto the piece instead of trying to unravel the emotions the composer had in mind when writing it (death of the author and other yadas aside) and stated that this type of listener is keen to getting perfectly integrated into the culture industry which you can clearly see with all those moronic discussions (don't worry this one here is really harmless in comparison) they have about what music is and what not
"b-but you think music is about driving culture forwards instead of using the 3489293849th vengeance pack with shitty barely tweaked serum presets shut it and let me cope pls" even self-proclaimed musicians suffer from this shit cause music education hit a rock bottom since everyone thinks youtube is a music university, the same breed of people probably use youtube to "study" politics and what they really mean is watch molyneux and peterson kek

music has no real purpose, just like life, everything else is just ideology
"life that had a purpose wouldn't constantly question it"

I always interpret my own meaning into songs because I listen for my own pleasure, but I also do always research the lyrics meaning and artist because I can't really separate the art from the artist often and need to know if they were some sex pest or not.

I do agree thought that nothing has any purpose
everything's what you make of it.

"The ultimate purpose of music is supposed to make each other feel" was just my subjective view, I should've specified, but I hate how objective assholes have made us add a "imho" after every opinion.

I don't like objectivism in art.

Lil B is the greatest rapper in history and I've spent over six hours to explain why.

If you require a fine tuned philosophical explanation of why Lil B is the greatest rapper of all time, it isn't worth being explained to you. Brevity is the soul of wit. He has made a larger quantity of music, all free, than almost any musician in such a short period of time. Very few of his tracks aren't original in some manner whether it be in their interaction with the beats, some unexpressed/rarely expressed societal consideration shown in various lights that range from exaggeration, truth, storytelling, lyrical consideration, ironical mockery, and sheer existence. when someone is surprised it has been neurologically shown that they are more prepared to intake new information, so his spectrum works on a few levels beyond originality for the sake of creativity. Lil B is the god of positivity, his music is beyond comprehension. Lil B is one of the smartest rappers of all time; this man has done lectures at Harvard. Lil B is a talented artist who likes to make goofy ass songs and enjoy himself. People are drawn to his likeable personality and sheer majesticness. Lil B is the Based God; layers upon layers and we are yet to find his mantle. What follows is an in-depth analysis of just one of the many masterpieces Lil B has created. Titled "Lil B - No Black Person Is Ugly MUSIC VIDEO MOST POWERFUL SONG OF THE DECADE?" Let's begin at the beggining of the song. The lyrics state: "No black person is ugly No black person is ugly No black person is ugly No black person is ugly" Throughout history, Black people have had to put up with mistreatment by mainly white people. The Based God is reminding us that Black people are not ugly at all and should be treated better and not judged based on the colour of their skin.
The fact that The Based God repeats this 4 times could show the desperation in the message that he is trying to convey. He wants this message to stay in people's heads so everybody knows that black people are not ugly.
Lil B then begins his first verse with:
"Make another dime a day, tryna make it rhyme away
Sometime my skin is the reason I'm alive today"
A lot of today’s rappers are admittedly in the industry for the pure sake of making money. Lil B, however, could care less about the “dime a day” he makes from rapping; what he really cares about is speaking out against racism and rhyming away the prejudice that affects African Americans tPost too long. I know this may sound like a boomer take but is it weird that I prefer sample based hiphop beats of the 90s and 2000s over the generic trap beats and soulless generated EDM style beats created by an executive at Atlantic records or something? Producers like Dre, J Dilla, Nujabes had 100% more rememberable beats than whatever lil <whoever> raps over today.

Why did sample based hiphop/rnb fall out of style? is the licensing just too expensive? Maybe this is why mixtapes are better than actual albums because they don't worry about profits.
>>

 No.1354

Nah your right old school sample beats are much better than modern shit i dont even think the main problem is licensing modern hip hop artists pay people to make beats for them and those people probably dont give a fuck and make a dozen standard beats a day

Music has been industrialized. Nothing 'boomer' about noticing.

DMX foretold his death from the covid vaccine and the mandatory vaccine passports being implemented now in his hit song "X Gon Give it to Ya".

>Yeah, don't get it twisted (your masks ear loops)

>It's not a fuckin' game. Fuck what you heard! (debunking anti vaccine rumors)
>X gon' give it to ya What? Fuck waitin' for you to get it on your own, X gon' deliver to ya (referencing mobile vaccination sites ie; nursing homes)
>Knock knock, open up the door, it's real (the door to your immune system)
>With the non-stop (number of vaccination higher than projected)
>, pop-pop of stainless steel (pop used twice to mirror the 2 dose vaccine)
>But I got such a good heart that I'll make a motherfucker wonder if he did it (good heart = not likely to have heart attack. Heart attack was caused by DMX receiving the vaccine
>Break bread with the enemy (rival companies working together on vaccine)
>You motherfuckers never wanted nothin', but your life saved (low/no cost vaccine clinics)
>"Freeze!" (Vaccines requiring Low temperature storage)
>I ain't got it, so you can't get it (he is vaccinated and cannot spread covid)
>Hit it with full strength (rate at which government roll out of vaccine)
>You against me, me against you (pro and anti vaccine groups debating)
