I miss the days of web rings, fun personal sites where people posted about their lives and you ACTIVELY seek out content you want to read.
Fuck the algorithms serving up nonsense.
I very much like using GrayJay as my app for consuming YouTube, without even needing an account you can subscribe to creators and then watch their content. It has a recommended page but it doesn't algorithmically serve you with content on the front page etc. It has really help me cut down on the whole infinity scroll thing. (

I am with you though, OP.
Another cool site I found to cut out the infinite scroll is Wiby (
https://wiby.me/) it serves you random web pages from the internet and it feels very reminiscent of the good old days of browsing the web. Very nostalgic too, almost like a time capsule.
I feel we really need to make an effort to break this 'they offer me this content, they make me scroll, they collect my data and then sell it but… hahah funny monkey eating chocolate with AI voice over the top make me feel good so I let them off' mentality.
Yeah.. i cant remember what my point is but I agree.
There are ways to try and stop the scroll though :)
