nationalism is incompatible with socialism.
Socialism is a ideological and economic system which seeks to usurp the control of capital over the global market and system and achieve a system by which need and want are sustained from and by each according to ability. Nationalism is a tool used by capitalist powers to control and manipulate working class people into fighting against their own interest and supporting the system of capitalism. I'm cool with maintaining and appreciating cultural heritage and I think people who try to white was everything in Abrahamic religious culture and dogma are wrong but ultimately nationalism is antithetical to communism and socialism.

Why is pan-nationalism looked down upon except when it's Palestinian nationalism, which is championed and seen favorably?

because Palestine is not a real country. The native inhabitants of that region of the planet are Palestinians. The same logic applies to north Ireland.
I cant speak for every one when I say "we," but, we support Palestine because it is the one getting fucked. Even if we dont ultimately support states and rulers.

Palestinian nationalism isn't "pan-nationalism," dumbass.
It's a movement of national liberation and self-determination by people who are already living in Palestine and native Palestinian refugees, and whose land is illegally occupied by ethnosupremacist settlers.

We don't support the illegal blockade of Cuba or war with Venezuela or the US/"Israeli" occupation of Syria, either. It's not because we believe in "Pan-Cubanism."
