Printer ink is the biggest blatant scam, only second to razor blades. Canon needs you to pay just for the customer service to diagnose an issue, and they deliberately keep the errors vague so you have no idea about what to do to resolve the issue. Ricoh or Brother. Epsons a bit shady. Avoid HP. Canon is scummy but comparatively a bit cheaper to HP and Epson. Brother is the best but it's not by much. They've got fucking subscriptions for printers now. Unregulated industry.
