too mucha anti-proship people appear on twitter and bluesky lately. do you think it has some right-wing influence or it's normal to be a person who bans incest and weird drawn porn? who harasses people for drawing siblings kiss? i think everyone should have their own right to exist even if it's immoral. neither these people should be harassed nor looked down at.

Twitter and BlueSky as platforms are right-wing influenced. There's nothing specifically right-wing about the anti-proship people, but their thought process follows the kind of ultra-reactive thinking which Twitter's short-form text format encourages.

Real, coherent, important thoughts were never meant to be communicated with the kind of constraints that Twitter has. It's a site of half-thoughts and attention-grabbing "radical" takes, and algorithms which push people towards empty "divisive" or "edgy" things which appeal to low emotions like repulsion, adoration, and arousal. Discussions had there are massive wastes of time, and so are many of the opinions, so inevitably there would come to be a very loud group who are extremely mad about "wrong" cartoon relationships. It is among the most vapid, meaningless things to get extremely mad about, which is characteristic of sites which encourage vapid, meaningless, empty discussion by their very design.

These same people get upset over fictional characters having age gap relationships.

These people are miserable bastards

It’s not limited to Twitter and Blusky.
It’s on Reddit, DeviantArt, and even Tumblr.

It’s just part of the new sex-negativity zeitgeist

Overanalysis IMO. It's not even real sex negativity, it's about cartoon characters. Cartoon characters can't fuck, they're cartoons. It's sex negativity simulacrum.

Yea that’s what I meant. They freaking out fictional characters because millennials and zoomers don’t have sex or romance as much as their elders did and coupled with helicopter parenting and stranger danger, that’s what we got.
Low key think that millennials and their juniors are reactionary over sexuality than boomers.

Reactionaryism isn’t always right wing. There have been a lot of right wing people who have dabbled if not outright binged on “problematic fiction” and are supportive of it
