Co-opted how?
I don't know enough about him, but my impressions from what little bits & pieces I've read is generally positive. I guess I do think he's been co-opted - western academia has this conspicuous habit of taking token "radical" authors for study and avoiding "radical" stances. They do it with Marx, too, ftr. The moment it comes time to do something about zionism, about NATO, about any entrenched imperial power, they are cowards at best - and because they are cowards, and because their cowardice serves the warmongers and bankers, they're liable to be replaced by even more docile propagandists who will twist the source material even more to fit the desires of the CIA.
