I wrote "ARE WE GREAT YET" in sharpie next to the price display. Driving home, my mind wandered: I imagined some MAGA cop or concerned citizen with cop friends seeing it, the station getting subpoenaed for footage, and me getting arrested and held in solitary for months or years by some MAGA judge-no bail, no call, no lawyer. Or maybe just hauled out to the middle of nowhere, cuffed to a pine tree, and left to die slow and horrible. Years later, cops drive back, find my skeleton, pick up my skull, write "NOW WE'RE GREAT" on it in sharpie, and FedEx it to my mom. There's my big leftist revolution contribution.

My personal philosophy is "they're going to kill you," so there's no reason not to do real damage to their capacity to do it before that. If you live long enough without taking real action, eventually they'll just make some shit up and kill you anyway like they do to people everywhere else in the world.
