Artists Against Apartheid’s Carsie Blanton and Leila Hegazy are part of the Global Sumud Flotilla setting sail on August 31.
This historic flotilla, composed of dozens of small vessels carrying activists, parliamentarians, doctors, artists trade unionists, and humanitarian cargo, brings together delegations from over 39 countries to break Israel’s illegal blockade on Gaza.
Both successful touring musicians and organizers who see their work as a tool for liberation, Carsie Blanton Carsie Blanton is an anti-Zionist Jewish songwriter and organizer, and Leila Hegazy Leila Hegazy is an Egyptian-Italian-American singer-songwriter, social media creator, teacher, and activist based in NYC.
