How do you build a disciplined fighter? essetially, brainwashing. The viet minh are documented to essentially have big parties in the village where dedicated politcal officials told sob stories about french occupation: after a few weeks of doing this in their local area, they had their army. think of how that applies to americans, the punk scene for example is filled with young rebelious folk needing a direction. find out how to host parties with live music and food, give speeches at the beginning middle and end highlighting injustice in their community and especilly have comrades in the crowd to both stir up sentiment and directly pipeline potential recruits. start with small things: who will go tagging? who wants to help at the local food not bombs, keep them fun, and alligned, and healthy. at the end of the day your most effective fighters are most effective because they are fighting for and alongside friends.
once people have been developed, decide which role they might fit best as a junior officer; are they ideologically dedicated, a good speaker, and someone people find trustworthy? they are best for politcal officer.
Are they daring, analytical or just a plain good fighter? they can be a military officer.
The way the PLA ran back in the day was to force command down to the lowest possible rank, and since the working class should be ideologically commited to the same goals, they will be strategically alligned by the same ideological enforcement.
lin biao famously outlines the tactics used on the ground in only 25 symbols, and conciseness should be used in our case aswell, remembering a tactical manual is difficult for an everyday soldier, but short poems and nursery rhyme style explanations stick in peoples heads. i am not one for writing such things and encourage anyone creative minded enough to help develop such a thing.

most important for all those gun nuts out there: equipment wise, its nice to have lots of grenades, they will likely be the deciding factor, drones are quite hard to procure without a global supply chain, and i find it likely that in a revolution scenario, even cross country supply chains will be difficult. a superweapon can be defeated by preventing it from getting any ammo.
5.56 is the best kind of ammo, even the russians know this now. it has a superior balistic trajectory, and ultimately, your soviet larp gun wont have any bullets when your run a raid on a supply truck.

It is my personal presumption that modern war will be won in tunnels. tunnels beat drones like rock paper scissors. drones and tunnels makes your zone of control impractical for any miliatry entering your security zone. tunnels are best drilled into solid continious rock, loose dirt over a wooden support structure is likely to collapse from an airstrike or artillery.
Remote weapons: mines are amazing at preventing an enemy advance, once a route has been shown to have an ied, security steps up and more money is spent to do the same thing, straining logistics. something i expect to see in the near future are remote guard posts, imagine a fiber optic cable that runs to a machine gun mounted on a servo, or more likely a large buried cannon like weapon meant to blast a hole straight through the first vehicle. the charge can sit for weeks, allowing recon throughand waiting until the real meat shows up to juice em.

Sean Mcfate has a good series of videos on how the weak defeat the strong, and also a book called the modern rules of war, which i havent read. OP is correct that clausewitz is a good start, as it is good to understand the rationale behind the actions of our enemies. Che also has a good book on guerilla warfare. The RAND institute came out with a paper on counterinsurgency, and that is good to read to understand how the u.s is likely to respond.
