Both sci-fi subplots (the "genius sister" and the final one) were completely unnecessary and kinda ruined the whole thing with dumb cruelty, so I pretend they don't exist. Neiru could be just a "perfect hard-studying schoolgirl", no need to write her like they did.
It would be 1000x better if they went with "it's magic, I ain't gonna explain shit" attitude and never had never added the serious explanation of the events – focusing just on the characters and their traumas. Feels like the whole thing was written by a committee because it was a collab project.
