When the hype dies down, then yes. Otherwise it is conductive to discussion and movement of the board. Besides, /ig/ is containment because people like to discuss breadtubers, which are 100% lib trash. Say what you want about infrared, but they aren't lib trash like the others.

And further, it has led to people confronting their lack of understanding of theory and of beliefs about praxis.

And finally, there might be 80+ people on stream. We have ~300 unique IPs at any one moment. Most of the people on stream are leftypolers. That means that around 25% of the board is actively watching. That's 1 in every 4 visitors. Why deny them a space to converse?
