I remember growing up in the 2000s. Adults said things were better before 1996.
In the 1990s, adults said things were better in the 1970s and early 80s.
Cultural decay is motivated mainly by the solipsism of aging.
There's more to life than top quality pop culture products.
There's so much opportunity for growth and what not.

People would rather obsess over why fictional characters don't appeal to their tastes.
