I'm tired of weebs shitting on Western pop culture. What excuse do these mfs have to shit on Western pop culture if they themselves watch some mediocre harem and isekai slop? Western pop culture isn't bad, we have a rich back catalog of great Western works waiting for us to discover them. Neither did it become worse, all the good and promising talent just went into the indie and AA segments so basically the West sorta relies on doujin circles for releasing great games, comics, cartoons and music which is fairly unique to it compared to the Far East. And even AAA game studios, Netflix and cartoon channels, with all their DEI, dwindling quality and appeals to the lowest common denominator, still occasionally produce some bangers (CDPR, Rockstar, id Software, MachineGames, io Interactive and [adult swim] still look promising despite all the fuckups).
So here's my message to the weeaboos: stop shitting on something you don't understand and having a superiority complex because you watch moe girls flashing their panties and jiggling their tits on-screen. Sure, Western pop culture is in its late-capitalist casual-friendly pandering enshittification phase but it's not all doom and gloom, even though it used to be better when it comes to the mainstream pop culture. Or maybe it became too mainstream so the indie scene is sort of a counterbalance to that? Remember how gamers were often bullied for their hobby? Now everyone and your dad plays video games and it obviously affects their quality.

I say that and then I remember that this also exists.

Faye is kinda hot though. But the show feels like a cheap CW series. Compare this to, say, Netflix's One Piece.

Also, they hired a black guy to play a character with a little bit of tan. If they needed a DEI hire they could've hired a latino or something. No idea why they didn't. Again, the logic of Netflix and CW's producers makes no sense. Have you read the script of Powerpuff? If it was released it would've been an officially approved fanfic. We have characters having sex, cheating, getting addicted to drugs, all kinds of edgy cringe-worthy stuff.

>THREE REBOOTS!Screw that, FOUR. And if you count FusionFall it's FIVE. The other reboot is a special made by Lauren Faust which is considered its own continuity if I haven't forgotten anything. Dear Lord…

The chuddy weeblets claim that the dreaded "Western influence" is what will ruin anime FOREVER, yet anime was always influenced by the West in some way (the anime art style was influenced by Disney, Cowboy Bebop was influenced by Westerns, Samurai Champloo was influenced by hip-hop (?) and Panty and Stocking was obviously influenced by both Powerpuff Girls and Drawn Together). In fact, some Western influences on anime are actually GOOD. Not only are Western influences from Western culture can add unique flair to anime (JoJo, Bebop, PSG, Edgerunners, Scott Pilgrim) but they also help represent Western culture more faithfully, as well as improve the portrayal of black people for example (there are even some great black protagonists in anime now, an example of POSITIVE diversity unlike what we see in Hollywood), not to mention that the merging of Western and Japanese influences can create a combination that's the best of both worlds. Hearing Western-style music in anime can feel refreshing and exciting, and seeing references to Western pop culture activates those dopamine receptors in Western viewers.
However, not all Western influences are created equal. Obviously wokeness and modern feminism are a big no-go, they're cancer that's killing Western entertainment too so it spreading to anime would be very upsetting. It's already infuriating that Funimation inserts woke feminist messages into their translations now. Also, it should be stressed that some cultural isolation actually makes a country's art more unique and enjoyable than if it was tainted by globalization. Anime too has certain quirks unique to it that make people interested in it in the first place so losing them would remove all the charm. Ofc I'm not a fan of every quirk (I don't like the tsundere archetype, the repetitive use of the same jokes and very drawn-out romcoms that end very abruptly) but I don't want all of them to just disappear.
