When I came here years ago, /b/ was the most active board. The site was really, really slow, but it was still evident that there were more than like 3 guys here. In Fall 2023, the main board picked up a bit, and there was a lot of activity there, particularly regarding Palestine. I started posting over there more, and somehow, mysteriously, the activity on /b/ gradually dissipated… which is weird, because /b/ already had activity even before I got here. /leftypol/'s activity seems to have dissipated even more.
Now /b/ is slow as fuck. The main board is slow as fuck. The chat, which used to have a good bit of activity, rarely has more than one message per day. The overboard moves at a slower speed than /b/ by itself used to. What the fuck happened?

It's probably not easy to find our site.
I still lurk here and check it daily, just haven't been posting as much because I've been trying to be productive.
We need a group effort to promote the site, it's just not clear what the options are…

I’m getting tired of all the posts on sites like these moaning about lack of membership when these posts then complain about “too many cooks” when they get a bigger user base.

Btw, once upon a time I tried to post a lot of threads but they got removed or got post-merged into other threads by mods

I can only speak for myself, but I personally grew out of /b/'s something like 17 years ago. I've never cared much for /b/ on any image board since then, and the only reason I'm replying to this thread is because I saw it on the overboard. I would say say the same expected thing happened that happens to every niche alternative image board: if you don't attract new users then you're destined to shrink and eventually die. It's an unrealistic expectation to assume that whatever comprises your community at a given moment is always going to be the same. People stop posting for all sorts of reasons you can't control and they need to be replaced.
