I'd also suggest your standard political philosophy readings of the greeks

If you really want to start from zero, you have to start with the greeks. You can skip between the greeks and marx.

History of Philosophy from Copplestone is good. It has like 11 volumes lol, but the first one is the most important.

You can also listen to History Of Philosophy without any gaps. It's really good.

After that, IMO reading some secondary lit on hegel is key.

Then read Marx. If you're not too interested in the economic stuff, you can skip vol 2 and 3 of Capital. There's a lot to read.

At this point you should be radicalized. It is honestly hard not to see things as Marx and Hegel saw them.

Anti-Duhring was the main introduction for people in ML parties for a long time, so it's a good start imo. Lot of stuff about what dialectical materialism means that western marxists miss.

This is a very poor beginners guides. Some of these materials like Cockshott's work are very alienating for new people. I'd recommend "Marxism-Leninism-Maoism Basic Course" by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) instead which you can find on foreignlanguages.press

If you want to get into marxism, read Capital. Yeah, it's fucking difficult to grasp, but, to be honest, the primers and such really do not help with that anyway. Besides, it's a blast when you have read one paragraph three times in a row to try to grasp what is being said in it and all the pieces suddenly just fit into place inside your head. It's almost like reading a really good mystery novel. The only bad thing about reading Capital is that, once you see it, you will never stop seeing it.

Oh, and don't skip Volumns 2 and 3. That's where you get an idea of how capitalism is fleshed out by the concepts described in Volumn 1.
