Tbh the most remarkable thing is that football fans even still bother with Fifa. It was notoriously corrupt even before Infantino gave Trump a "peace prize" and allowed the US gov't to meddle in the games. I'd hesitate to even say a Spanish win is a victory over the rigging - a Spanish win could also serve propaganda purposes, as a symbolic, empty victory in a fake sporting competition by Spain ("Palestine Solidarity EU country") over Argentina (notoriously zionist-yankee controlled Latin American country) could also serve as a distraction if, say, the Spanish gov't decides to extradite Fergie Chambers. Hollow victories seem like 1 of many weaknesses of the western left.
