A game music thread with a twist. It occurs to me that I don't encounter music like this too often in games, but it's really cool when it's done well. Looking for vidya music that creates a sense of dread and uneasiness, that stresses the player out and adds to the tenseness of a particular level or area in which it plays.

I fear this thread may be too specific.

No, no, I also like unsettling video game music, but I was waiting to download a bunch of videos from YouTube since I prefer to upload the MP4s. But I got distracted and now it's very late so I'll post them in the morning.

IREM games in the late '80s often had some pretty unique dark and unsettling music. It probably often went unappreciated in loud arcades.

MOTHER 3 and EarthBound are littered with these.
Sadly I don't remember EarthBound's soundtrack as well right now, so I'll be posting MOTHER 3 music.

Sometimes creepy notes and instruments are introduced out of nowhere in tracks that play in supposedly calm or non-scary areas/battles, but I'm not posting those because they're not as relevant as these.

sc;bw had godly atmospheric ambient that perfectly captured the feeling of the game.

Binding of Isaac: Antibirth. The original mod had a great soundtrack by a guy named mudeth, but now that it's being officially incorporated as the repentence dlc, the music will be redone by ridiculon, and it'll probably be worse. But with any luck mudeth will release a mod or something to replace the soundtrack back with his version.
