How will he inevitably betray his voter base?
>>

 No.490332>>490334

<Inb4 "normalize context"
He's the candidate for mayor of New York City on the Democratic party side and seems to have a lot of supporters.

He wants to make busses free, tax millionaires 2%, make childcare free and freeze rent in rent-controlled apartments. I think he has some other ideas that are I guess for the US progressive.

But he's still a Democrat which means either they will never let him implement even a taste of succdem policy lest the poors start craving more socialism.

he appears to be trying an alliance of small commerce + proles against NY big real-estate.

Lowering the cost of living for proles. If the benefits divide evenly between better purchasing power for proles and lower wages for employers, who knows he might get a reinforcing economic circuit.

This new circuit should amount to a less precarious tax revenue so he might get backed by the bureaucracy.

The power of NY big real estate came from imperial vassals parking their dollars in NY real estate. Since the imperial business of the US isn't doing well, that might have become a declining track for the city.

I don't know, but there might be a small chance for him to succeed. At least for a while.

I mean his ideas aren't very radical and should succeed in any normal country. I'm just jaded as fuck because lately the ruling class has been making sending the message that things must only get worse for proles. Any W at all isn't allowed.

capitalist politics is gangster politics, he won't "betray his voters" because betrayal implies loyalty, his voters - the ones who arent muhleft morons - know exactly what they signed up for when they voted for him, and he knows exactly what he signed up for when he became a politician
people play with the cards they are dealt and capitalist politics always rigs the flop

The Zionist lobby freaked out and tried to cancel him like Jeremy Corbin in the UK. But the times have changed and he gained political capital instead, maybe he can continue surfing the zionist wave of vitriol.

Let's ask ourselves this question: which fellow citizen wouldnt? It seems like most citizens would do almost anything for the right incentive {money, power, etc.} so lets stop pretending like the problem is the politicians. THe core of the issue is the average citizen is so evil and so moralless so… the politicians only a reflection of this. Its you the citizen who is evil, the average joe who is responsible, the guy on the street who is a willing accomplice.
So, to hell with you all. All of you are equally responsible for all the evil politicians do on your behalf.

Is that elections are an institution of oligarchy. Why would you be surprised that anyone looks out for their own interests? Replace elections with the democratic institution of sortition and you wipe away the ability for the upper stratum of society to select for itself in government.

This
The politicuans all grow up in the same homes, go to the same schools, eat the same foods, listen to the same music, watch the same movies/shows as the plebians.

They even have the same sentiments.

So if politicians are corrupt despite sharing nine-tenths personal preferences, maybe the problem is the plebians themselves

The real reason why governments are corrupt isn't so much greed but rather because they have to keep so many mouths fed.

Even if governments weren't corrupt they would fail because the plebians want things done for them. They don't wanna do it for themselves.

Many people are very principled so that is not a valid rationalization for opportunistic behavior.

>THe core of the issue is the average citizen is so evil

No, the blame for our shitty societies lies with the rulers. They command the surplus of society. Where they allocate the surplus is what shapes the moral character of a society.

The logic goes like this: in any sufficiently large group of people you find a distribution of all kinds of character traits. At the scale of entire societies what matters is what characteristics are elevated or frustrated. Like for example in Israel they chose to elevate sadistic and cruel character traits, because they see that as a means to kill off the Palestinians. People that have kindness in their hearts, got psychologically destroyed. There are many Israeli military conscripts that are now in psychiatric facilities because witnessing the horrors that the regime caused in gaza broke their minds.

The rulers could have configured Israel to elevate kind people and let them forge friendship with the Palestinians and the result have been peaceful coexistence. But they chose not to do that. I want to comment that this was very foolish because if you create these monsters they will eventually run out of victims outside of society and then they turn inwards and destroy society.

>Its you the citizen who is evil, the average joe who is responsible, the guy on the street

No responsibility is always tied to power.
But the powerfull always try to blame the powerless. This is what you are doing here.

>So, to hell with you all. All of you are equally responsible for all the evil politicians do on your behalf.

No, we bear no responsibility for things politicians do, if they don't represent our interests.

This fucker obviously doesn't. He constantly uses the rhetoric of compromise in his campaigning, talks about "working together" with bosses when they're obviously going to oppose wins for workers that hurt their bottom line at every opportunity. His list of "heroes" is a bunch of other mealy-mouthed sellouts. And most importantly he has made no pretenses whatsoever about using his office as a tool to build worker movements to actually win things.

Or maybe he understands capitalist politics better than you (the dupe he's swindling).
