Assuming OP isn't a bot, my take is this:
The idea that Fascism is, strictly, a response to a mass organized communist movement is an over-simplification based on what happened in the 20th century. The Fascist current in the US arose when the USSR still existed; Prescott Bush and family, James Jesus Angleton, COINTELPRO, the "war on drugs," neoliberalism, etc. The "relationship" with Zionism was also initially developed as a manifestation of Fascistic interests within the American MIC, although it is now the primary driving interest within the American (global capitalist) state. The American MIC runs on the command that the U.S. is the world's sole hegemon, and Zionism runs on messianic ethnosupremacist dogmas and a conjoined (but also theoretically competing) global and regional hegemonic imperial command of expansion for "Israel."
For the U.S. military state, the finding and destroying of "threats" (and the manufacture and sale of arms) is the purpose of being, whether or not any tangible threats actually exist - the military class exist to enrich themselves through war and theft and money laundering and drug running and all those sorts of things. For "Israel," the Fascist model is put foremost towards industrialized imperialism, and the "threats" to Zionist power are untermensch, although it is worth noting that the most active militant communist guerilla movement on Earth at present is the PFLP, and the PFLP was a more major player in this 50 years ago.
The pursuit of, and consolidation of, power never actually stops - and why would it?
Fascism was already here, in disguise. Today, the mask is off, but the beast revealed beneath is still characterized by the ruthless totalitarian pursuit of the class interests of the oligarchs and rentiers and financiers. Its masters are deranged, and its enemies are whoever they want to dispossess or destroy. All of the quibbling about what historical conditions are necessary for the emergence of Fascism is irrelevant, because it arrived globally when those conditions still existed internationally.
Yes, America is Fascist, "Israel" is Fascist, and Hitler never had the kind of surveillance state they possess, nor the capacity to perform the kind of atrocities and subjugation which are yet to come. People can call it authoritarian capitalism, zionism, or even just plain old imperialism, none of these terms are inaccurate, but I don't see any material use in the perpetual 'debate' over whether or not it meets the technical criteria of Fascism, I won't be convinced that there's a meaningful reason to exclude it from that category at this point.
