>>497266>female beauty industry is THRIVING on selling women creams for eternal young look, anti aging serums. even little girls are using skincare as their moms. infinity of different beauty procedures with different affects to your body - botox and fillers. fashion shows usually have women as models. ozempic went sold out when it came. the amount of money made in beauty industry is INSANE.Men are subject to this too. Also it’s natural for girls to want to try out make up anyway.
> even in this image board we can see a thread where men discuss girls' looks, that they are "mid" when they are actually quite pretty and skinny, calling them whores and "ruined" for having tattoos. (which hurt my heart)Men are also denigrated for having tattoos. Women refer to tattooed men as rapists/horndogs/idiots.
And women also rank men based on looks as well, calling them mid or ugly.
As a boy, I’ve been witness to how vitriolic girls can be about judging mens looks and wit.
They often mock boys for wearing colorful flashy shirts, they call them faggy for being lean, they call them creeps for being chubby and wearing glasses.
Girls are not the only victims of lookism.
> i can say i wasn't right when i said "no one cares about men's looks". people do care, but there not so much pressure into it? they have different standards from us, for sure. there is valued strength, size, masculinity, which are maintained by exercise and different beauty practices (not makeupIf men aren’t pressured to maintain good looks, why is then that young men are constantly accused of being “less than men” for having any ounce of nuance in their hair style?
Why are they mocked as low T for being skinny or lean? Or having long hair?
Exercise alone doesn’t give you buff muscles.
Nor does it give you a buff chin.
Men who lack sharp facial features are pathologized as infantile.
Masculinity is often reduced to having gaunt and hairy features.
