Most lumpenproles also work, actually. It's not a state of unemployment by definition, it's usually just really shitty, or taboo, low level work, sometimes illegal.

The idea that communism "demands" work is dumb. Socialism offers massive jobs programs, that's not a "demand," that's not "forced labor," that's community, that's mobilization, that's enablement for anyone to get paid, regular work without having to go out begging for it. Anyone who would still be a "NEET" under such circumstances would almost certainly be too disabled to be forced into anything.

OP nobody likes work, you just have the privilege of being able to NEET instead of being homeless and starving. Communists actually acknowledge that works does suck, and it's probably going to suck for quite some time still, but at least communists understand that with automation we can reduce the number of hours in the work week. And in later stages of socialism work won't feel like you're going to work, it will be closer to how natives feel about going out hunting for their tribe, they don't complain about it being a grind.
