All those people on Twitter "changing my profile pic to the color green to show support" while retweeting pics of protestors with entirely too many protest signs written in English. All Western media hailing social medias' capacity to spread democracy and empower the people against tyrants. Later, it turned out the vast majority of the tweets were made by Westerners. And this was in an age when botting was virtually nil there.
