I recently became a gamer Anons, Oh no, i know it was a terrible plan, but fuck it.. What kind of music are best to listen to when gaming?
I have been mostly listening to trip-hop so far but lyrics can be to distraction unless I know them well..

Listen to Anwar Shaikh's 45 hour lecture series on Capitalism. It really helps me focus.

I thought I said but i apparently didn't. I usually listen to lectures but cannot concentrate when I try t play games, hence trying to mostly find chill music with minimal or inconsequential lyrics. :)

What games do you play?
There are a lot of genres. RTS, RPG, FPS or sport games might requires different ambiances?

It depends on what you're playing. ("Gaming" is such a broad, vague verb.)

When I used to play RTSs, I listened to some power metal, and when I played something like racing or fighting games I listened to pop and rock, or anything else that sounds fun.
Other than that, I don't really listen to music while playing games. The soundtrack is usually enough, and listening to any music I already know is distracting, whether there's lyrics or not.

Why do you have trouble concentrating on the game?

I should add that I only listened to other music while playing when I felt bored of the game's soundtrack. It really depends on how you're feeling in that moment.

Sometimes this applies to other series as well, if you like an earlier game's soundtrack more than the music in the one you're playing (or even if they're different series but you feel that the other game's music fits).

The music in the game obviously. Although admittedly when I get really, really good at certain games I tend to eventually turn the music off so I can focus on sound effects as audio cues.

The game's soundtrack, what sort of retarded question is this?
>gamer
Don't use that term. It was always shit and unironically calling yourself that is sad beyond reproach.
