They're calling it the biggest bubble in US history, bigger than the dot com bubble of the '90s or any other bubble. When it pops, it will likely be disastrous. When will it pop?

Geopolitical Economy Report | Big Tech corporations want US gov't bailout, when AI bubble pops
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang fears China will win the AI race, as OpenAI asks the US government for "federal guarantees" and a "backstop". The unsustainability of the enormous AI bubble is becoming clear to everyone, and Silicon Valley Big Tech executives want to be guaranteed a bailout. Ben Norton explains.

I agree.
Tbh I've been predicting the next recession would happen this year, but now it's looking like it will be 2026 - and that's just going by the 18 year property cycle, where we were already scheduled for a ton of trouble since there was never any real accountability for the Great Recession of '07/'08. When that hits, even by itself, it will be massive - adding on the whole AI house of cards and the state of US public services, it's going to be a catastrophic disaster, and it really looks like that's what the US gov't is preparing for with its cop cities and increased police militarization and military policeization.

Bailouts can and will be used to prevent another great depression. The mass immiseration of the masses is a small price to pay for the ghouls who run our world.

>>492161
Nah, that won't happen with AI. What will bring in another 2008 is the non-banking lending industry which is repeating all the failures of yore while skirting the legal restrictions banks now must abide by.

>Nah, that won't happen with AI.
What won't?
I said the massive AI bubble would be an exacerbating factor; the coming collapse of the land bubble will likely coincide with the collapse of the massive AI bubble, which will make the overall economic downfall even worse.
>skirting the legal restrictions banks now must abide by.
But anon banks aren't abiding by those! And post-Depression restrictions which were scrapped before '07 were never brought back!

I would personally recommend buying land, guns, ammo, and food.

I guess if you were looking to invest in something, you might want to go with a company that people will panic buy from. My mind immediately went to shorting before that, though, and I don't know precisely how to predict who to short… or how to make sure that you get paid for a short, since major economic crashes make collecting for cynical bets difficult. Personally, I think this coming crash could be so bad that betting on the success even of industries which people buy a lot from during crises might not even be reliable, but I'm not an investor. I guess I should have led with "I'm not an investor."

I pay big money for the latest AI models. They ALREADY have the capacity to take away most cognitive, sedentary work.

It's just a question of how over half the job market integrates their incoming irrelevance.

Talking about it like a bubble implies all that matters are stock prices, who cares about stock prices?

money is fake and dumb, keep up your collapse porn though i'm sure Mr. Wolff will be right after being wrong the last 16 years

At some point a stock market downturn is inevitable as part of the business cycle though

>money is fake and dumb,
Yeah, that's the point.

>At some point a stock market downturn is inevitable as part of the business cycle

The single biggest component is the real estate cycle, and that's an 18 year cycle. 18 years ago was 2007, 18 years from 2006 will be 2008.

But there also are speculative bubbles in other sectors like this one, and this is absolutely going to crash around the same time as the property bubble.

No, he's repeatedly forecasted near-doom economic doom that didn't transpire like Peter Schiff. That he happens to be doing the same during a mostly unreported economic slowdown could be right, but it's "stopped clock" partially right if so RE: economic collapse. But that also wouldn't mean any of the other things he imply would occur after another economic crash.
