As in making animesque cartoons and collaborating with Japanese studios? They already did. As in making Japanese anime? I don't think that's possible, they don't own a Japanese studio.

The whole appeal of Western animation is that it's DIFFERENT from anime. We need MORE quality Western-style animation like Panty and Stocking, not less, the state of both Nick and Disney nowadays is pathetic tbh. All my bets are on Adult Swim and the streaming exclusives, everyone else sucks balls (except indies). CN and Nick's cartoons can finally be called "just for kids," thank you, Zaslav, very cool. Although they say they're making new Gumball and Regular Show seasons.

It seems to me that non-Japanese are the biggest otaku when it comes to international athletes, at London or maybe Beijing there was another gymnast who used Zelda music for her routine (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pCmxmCrg2U), and Mexican gymnast Alexa Moreno used Kimetsu no Yaiba music at the Women's Floor qualifications this year (vid related).

We all like to be uber-weebs who accept anime with all its weird quirks that movie critics would scoff at (Eva is a prime example of this) but some trope I will never get over is blatant imperialism in some anime. And I'm not just talking about some metaphorical imperialism like in AoT. I'm talking about the blatant imperialist apologia which the Fire Nation does in Avatar. I remember watching Kingdom and I could not believe my eyes. I have not seen an imperialist propaganda this blatant and shameless. Do you know any other examples? And is it symptomatic of seinen or you can find this bs in other demographics?

One type of manga and anime that I don't understand the appeal of is kodomomuke. Don't get me wrong, I can enjoy stuff made for children and adolescents: shonen, shojo, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon. But that's, like, preschool stuff, I cannot take it seriously at all. Do you guys read this kind of manga? What do you think?
