RE federative whathaveyous… I honestly, uh, I don't get it. I was on lemmygrad for a while (iirc, or maybe it was some offshoot?) and it was kinda cool, but generally? The whole Mastodon/whatever thing is weird to me, because it, like, presumes that the twitter format is even worth replicating, which… no, it's not. It's literally only ever been a convenient format if you're posting small, inane bits & pieces from a phone, for any real discussion it's just not a good design. Imageboards and traditional forums are way better for this, so it's odd that people do the federated thing and have a million disconnected, isolated circlejerks rather than just run an imageboard competently or operate a single good oldschool forum.
